Description
As a Lead Software Architect you will be working with leadership to conceptualize our next generation product, leading design for the technical architecture of our enterprise data platform (including improvements to our cloud infrastructure and DevOps), solving complex technical challenges, and helping continually improve our processes.
Responsibilities
Duties:
Design technical solutions for business and operational challenges
Clearly document, and communicate architecture solutions to development teams and partners
Mentor engineers and collaborate with engineering leaders to create a competent, successful engineering organization
Partner with engineering, operation, and product teams on technical strategy and solutions
Triage system issues to understand and fix the cause, not the symptom
Evaluate, prototype, and select technologies and systems architectures to meet government compliance, support growth initiatives and ongoing system evolution.
What you bring to the table
You are a lead software engineer/architect with 7 or more years of experience with Cloud-based big data platform development. You can own design and development responsibility. You can work with autonomy to get things done while collaborating with others on architectural and process decisions. You are comfortable with giving and receiving feedback from your teammates and others in the organization. You can think on your feet and conceptualize what needs to be done from incomplete and evolving requirements. You meet deadlines and communicate effectively.
The successful candidate will also have experience with:
Azure Cloud Services
Designing solutions architecture for new and mature systems
Designing & implementing enterprise level, mission-critical PaaS data platforms
Designing & implementing REST and PubSub APIs
Working with Infrastructure and security as code
Designing data models

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or above (Computer Science, Bio Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering or any related field)
Proficient understanding and tech-lead level experience in one or more programming languages (Java, Scala, Python etc.)
7 years of Cloud-based big data platform development experience and PaaS
Proven experience with OpenAPI, JSON, RESTful web services, async communication and client-server interactions
Knowledge of various persistence (RDBMS, noSQL, HDFS, Cassandra, Redis)
Practical understanding of Data Catalogs, Data Governance, & Data Lineage
Experience with security, authentication in data platform
Experience with building stream-processing systems, using solutions such as Spark-Streaming or Flink
Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources
Experience with building data lakes and data warehouses using any of the major cloud providers (GCP, AWS or Azure(preferred)
Familiar with Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, HBase etc.), especially Spark
Good basics of operating systems and network
Good knowledge of Big Data querying tools
Knowledge of and experience with Azure
Knowledge of various ETL techniques
Knowledge of messaging systems, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
Experience with highly scalable web services
API design and development

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Spring/Spring Boot
Environment management/orchestration systems (Kubernetes, etc.)
Experience with testing frameworks and code quality tools
Experience with continuous integration environment and tools
Experience with Oracle, PostgresSQL, Mongo development and optimization
Familiarity with Healthcare (FHIR), Clinical or Financial industry
Experience with agile development practices
Familiarity with Git
Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
