Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Sr. Lead, Engineering Architect to help design specific, secure enterprise engineering solutions across our ecommerce, marketing, connected fitness, and retail technologies. The role will bring design expertise to advance our customer experiences, technical standards and the north star architecture that will power UA into the future.
Reporting to the Director of Platform Engineering, you will be working on the next generation of architecture to support cross functional teams of software engineers, managers in an agile environment. You will learn, grow, and innovate in an environment that focuses on results and delivery, all backed by one of the strongest consumer brands in history. This role may also handle development tasks as needed. The ideal candidate has worked with open-source technology and has contributed features as part of an Agile delivery team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborate with team members to determine best practices and requirements for software
Develop high level architecture, system design to address business requirement or to improve existing architecture
Document and develops technical use case flows for various projects
Communicate designs clearly to technical and non-technical teammates
Develop technical architecture data flows and diagrams for new initiatives and existing systems
Provide technical guidance across a varied ecosystem and a variety of large projects
Build prototypes for new initiatives and evolving business needs
Assist in troubleshooting and discovery
Maintain up to date best practices and standards
Support Security audits and other compliance activities
Support PCI and other compliance activities
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Proven experience as an architect designing distributed systems
Excellent knowledge of design patterns, algorithms and hands on technology skills
High proficiency in modern development languages (e.g. NodeJs, Springboot)
3 years of experience in cloud computing and experience with AWS, GCP, etc
10 years of experience with backend developmentStrong understanding of the current state of infrastructure automation, continuous integration/deployment, security, networking and cloud native models.
Experience working within a service-oriented architecture
Experience with site performance profiling and tuning
Experience designing, launching, and supporting highly available mission critical systems
Deep working knowledge and debugging skills of operating systems, memory management, networking and run time environments
Education And / Or Experience
BS in CS or 10 years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills (NOT REQUIRED)
Experience DNS and Certificate management
Experience with Privacy concerns in a technical environment
Experience with APM technologies such as DataDog, NewRelic, or Honeycomb
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform
Working experience with Typescript in Node.js
Experience with GraphQL
Experience with React, Vue, or other frontend frameworks
Experience with AWS services such as RDS, SQS, and Elasticache

Base Compensation Range: $155,000 - $233,000
