POSITION PROFILE
The Director, Oracle Center of Excellence (COE) operates in a shared services model and is responsible for providing leadership to Knoll Inc. in effective deployment and utilization of the Oracle portfolio including Oracle eBusiness Suite and Oracle Fusion Middleware. Acting as a business partner with the functional business and IT leaders, the Director, Oracle COAE creates the vision and roadmap for delivery of enterprise solutions based on innovative concepts and ideas by leveraging Oracle technology and functionality to ensure that the organization gains a strong, sustainable competitive business advantage. The Director, Oracle COE is also a leader able to assess, develop, and lead talent. He/She will partner closely with senior leadership to develop information and technology solutions that provide the tools to drive the business forward.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Sets the vision and defines the long-term road map for IT products and services within the Oracle applications and middleware portfolio and provides oversight to ensure goals are met by:
Aligning package systems, software development, and line of business strategies into an enterprise software architecture including business, technical, security and data aspects that align with business needs
Providing oversight for major initiatives that will result in significant changes in the operation, design, availability, quality and/or processes for all of the Knoll operating portfolio
Helping to shape and lead strategic technology decisions for the Company and aligning the technology plan with the business strategy
Manages the full life cycle of the software/service delivery process, including process requirements, project scheduling, resource allocation, development, testing, quality control, and long-term production by
Operating with a mix of internal resources and external partners which will minimize the investment required to meet established objectives
Directing the generation of new software and service ideas that result in the delight of our internal and external customers
Overseeing the vendor relationships related to Oracle portfolio development and deployment, including identification, negotiation and ongoing management
Ensuring accurate and efficient policy development with oversight and ownership of software development protocols
Coordinating consolidated software release planning
Develops and leads his/her team and successfully translates business requirements into team deliverables, individual goals, and objectives by:
Developing, recommending, and implementing strategies to optimize effectiveness through processes and efficiencies
Facilitating the communication between staff, management, vendors and other technology resources within the organization
Recruiting, selecting, hiring, training, developing, and evaluating new and existing team members
Manage new and existing outsource service providers (and associated resources) in the delivery of Application Development services
Maintains knowledge of current and evolving technology and standards to bring innovation and game changing leadership to the team by:
Regularly evaluating existing technology/information systems and the talent required to manage it
Researching new ideas and technologies to recommend appropriate changes and innovative solutions
Defining and governing a unified set of technology standards and capabilities to provide competitive advantage and better serve business users
Designing frameworks for measuring performance and ROI from newly adopted technical standards
Ensuring that the Company’s services meet all relevant accessibility and usability guidelines and standards
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
Required Experience
15 years of experience in a strategic enterprise application development environment using the full portfolio of Oracle applications and middleware products
10 years of proven leadership experience and the ability to lead cross functionally as well as build a high performing team
Prior experience deploying Oracle eBusiness Suite R12, SOA Suite, Webcenter Suite and related products
Demonstrated leadership, change management, and success in planning, leading, and driving change in the organization while meeting or exceeding business objectives.
Strong project management and resource allocations skills.
Demonstrated business savvy to effectively communicate and work with other executives in support of achieving business and technology goals.
Skilled in technology integration and external partnership development. Must work well with vendors / outsourcers and be versed in setting standards and measurements for IT processes.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record in team building, developing and motivating IT personnel.
Proven ability to select good people and create a productive environment that promotes initiative, innovation, continual learning and development of key personnel for future advancement.
Ability to manage competing priorities between multiple business units
