SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated Sr QA Consultant to join our growing QA organization. This position is to lead and participate in manual and automated testing efforts across Corporate and Shared Systems

Providing operational and business test support for applications, this candidate will be responsible for leading strategic and version related testing activities. The candidate will also act as the Automation Test Team Lead for all ongoing projects in the Reinsurance department.

The position requires strong QA skills along with the ability to understand business requirements and business process flows, and will be responsible for the development and execution of system testing and artifacts while adhering to established procedures. Strong commitment to high quality work and timely deliverables will be important for managing priorities across multiple projects and systems.

The ideal candidate will have solid technical QA skills, experience working with and leading project teams, exceptional communication skills and solid knowledge of industry standard QA testing practices. QTP skills are preferred, but we are willing to train.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Creates and follows current processes, standards and practices to develop, test and implement quality assurance operational procedures for use by applicable requirements, development, test, and quality assurance teams.

Provides supervision and guidance to other quality assurance analysts, developers, and testers in the development and implementation of quality assurance processes, methods, and tools.

Provides status and makes recommendations on meeting test criteria and production rollout readiness.

Constructs and reviews test plans, scenarios, cases and scripts, ensuring that requirement coverage is adequate and business requirements, functional specifications and designs are linked to test artifacts.

Maps business requirements, functional and technical specifications to test scenarios, cases, and scripts. Works with project and business resources to ensure functional and technical specifications andesigns fulfill the requirements quality criteria.

Participates in requirements and design review.

Accurately monitors and communicates test execution results.

Provides assessment information on business and functional impacts. Facilitates architecting, designing, and implementing new and existing testing tools and methods.

Organizes and manages data environment and configuration requirements with business, functional and technical analysts, as well as development and test teams.

Work closely with QA peers and Business Analysts to prioritize automation needs.

Develop automation plans with detailed estimates to accomplish objectives. Work with assigned partner resources to complete development of automation activities. Ensure that all automation work complies with enterprise and department frameworks, policies and procedures.

Reviews manual test cases to determine automation candidates
Automates new, and maintain existing test scenarios
- Maintain automated testing frameworks

WORK EXPERIENCE:

- 5 years of test case development & execution
- 2 years of QA lead experience
- 2 years of QA estimation for test case development and execution
- 2 years SQL experience
- Experience with scripting/programming languages such as VB Script

DESIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with software automation
- 2 years H.P tools experience (Quality Center, QTP)


OTHER:
Technical Knowledge
Has experience with programming languages used for creating automated testing scripts. Willing to train in QTP, which is our standard automation tool, but candidate must have some core technical skills. Ability to master knowledge of business applications and processes, and technical knowledge of the systems interfaces with the business operations work-flow. Is proficient in the use of workstation applications related to the testing functions. Where appropriate maintains a thorough knowledge of business trends.
