This position has the responsibility and authority to develop and maintain a variety of Service and Repair documents such as Technical Bulletins, Service Manuals, Knowledge Content, and other service-related technical content for our line of advanced surgical robots. You will take the initiative to identify document requirements, interview appropriate product experts and Service managers to obtain the necessary information, and distill this information into detailed, accurate, professional documentation. You will complete, route, and follow through with electronic forms required to release these document. You will be asked to present complex concepts clearly and concisely, manage multiple document concurrently, adjust priorities as needed and overcome obstacles to meet deadlines. In addition, you will be responsible for preparing, coordinating, tracking, and releasing documents as required.

A Day in the Life
Identify Service document requirements and obtain necessary raw information from various sources.
Learn and understand the design and behavior of the companys products.
Develop and maintain document using Madcap Flare and other software applications.
Control document versioning and maintain the document source repository.
Provide document-related support to the other technical writers.
Perform the administrative documentation tasks required to establish and track documents in a Product Lifecycle Management system.
Continuously evaluate business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement improvements.
Perform other duties as requested by Service.
The Senior Writer is expected to complete projects independently, manage their own priorities, apply company procedures to resolve issues, identify and pursue improvement projects, and may be required to manage the service documentation pool for a specific business segment or segments.
The Senior Writer is expected to work within a matrixed environment, where direction, prioritization of work, and other daily activities may be established via an indirect reporting relationship.
Occasional domestic and international travel is required.
All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System.
Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations.
All other duties as assigned.
Travel requirement: Approximately 20%
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree required with a minimum of 4 years of technical writing experience
OR
Advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years technical writing experience
Nice to Have
Technical writing experience in the medical device industry, scientific, or other regulate industry.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience with topic-based authoring
Experience with Madcap Flare or other topic-based authoring tool
Experience with Adobe Acrobat and PhotoShop software
Strong organizational skills.
