Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) is integral to the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. software stack. It is part of the hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) platform and is based on Linux KVM; **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. hyper-converged storage also supports VMware and Hyper-V. The intern would be supporting an enterprise-grade hypervisor built from open-source technologies.
The primary technical skills required are good experience in C
and Python
programming languages and Linux
What success looks like? The intern learns, laughs, and grows from their experience as a member of the AHV team.
The intern selected for this team will gain a deep insight into low-level programming, including Kernel, virtual machines, and GPU drivers, directly work with source code, and implement new features to this product that customers will use.
Work and collaborate with a globally dispersed team on the development of Acropolis Hypervisor.
Common deliverables: Feature enhancements, support for customers & end-users, code maintenance.
Each intern is paired with a Member of Technical Staff who serves as a guide/mentor through our engineering culture, toolsets, and development methodology. Our internship program also includes a series of lunch and learns, soft-skill workshops, Intern hack-a-thon, and social gatherings (virtual or in-person where permitted) to expose you to other aspects of a rapidly growing technology company.

Your Role
Gain knowledge on the designing and development of new Acropolis Hypervisor features.
Fix problems and maintain Acropolis Hypervisor features.
Assist with the development of features from concept to market.
Constantly push towards making Acropolis Hypervisor highly reliable, performant, and secure.
Participate in the New Hire R&D Bootcamp to gain a high-level understanding of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. product suite, various tools, and processes
Participate in U-Hack (**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Intern Hack-a-Thon), which is a way to interact with other R&D interns and derive innovative solutions to various roadblocks across the organization
What You’ll Bring
You are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
Skilled in C and Python programming, multi-threading, algorithms, and data structures on Linux.
Strong debugging skills in Linux Kernel mode.
Knowledge of software engineering practices and software design principles.
A passion for low-level programming, collaborating with others, and the willingness to work with globally distributed teams.
