Help Desk Manager Jobs description

A help desk manager supervises and trains help desk specialists to identify routine and high priority system and software problems, as well as assign corrective actions to solve the problems. A help desk manager is responsible for coordinating system trouble reports with database analysts, application programmers, and functional database managers. Ensuring compliance with electronic and physical security procedures and standards, establishing and implementing effective call reporting and action system, managing the desktop technicians and server administrators, and assuming the role and duties of CTO as and when necessary may form part of duties.

The work of a help desk manager may also include strategic planning, resolving customer service issues, performing financial, cost benefit analysis, hands-on-technical troubleshooting and support, and managerial work.

A help desk manager should be highly skilled and experienced to provide leadership, vision, direction, and inspiration for all support functions. Experience working with Windows XP desktops, Exchange 2003, IIS, Vmware, Basic Disaster Recovery, Advance DNS, Advance Active Directory, and/or Intermediate Infrastructure Planning may prove advantageous. A help desk manager must possess at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
