The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for working across Firm departments to manage projects that impact Firm technology systems and manage all aspects of simultaneous technology and process projects, including Business and IT components, from beginning to end. The Senior Project Manager has direct accountability for project execution while leading the project team, or teams, to accomplish specific objectives in a given timeframe and with limited resources and scale plans accordingly to stagger multiple projects to utilize internal and external resources most effectively. This individual must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with time sensitive materials and maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the position.
Essential Job Duties:
•Implement and follow standard methodologies, processes, and tools, develop and maintains project documentation, work plans and project deliverables. Guide others in the use of the methodology and tools
•Establish and maintain effective communications with team members, stakeholders, senior management, and contacts. Communicate project status to identified stakeholders through routine status reports and meetings
•Planning and management of scope, schedule, budgets, resources, stakeholders, business benefits, change, risks, risk mitigation, project tracks and deployments.
•Manage simultaneous projects
•Recommend information technology strategies and solutions by evaluating outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirements
•Integrate information technology into Firm projects for optimal effectiveness
•Design technical and functional requirements with project teams
•Develop and maintain information technology plans, which outline project status, individual tasks, milestones, completion estimates, and resource allocation
•Coordinate new system roll-outs and beta tests
•Ensure end-user satisfaction through post-project debriefs
•Work with IT team to brainstorm new test ideas for technical projects
•Determines the appropriate documentation (communication plans, schedules/timelines, status reports, quality plan, closure summary, budget, risk plan, etc.) for projects and manages the quality and delivery of documentation
•Manage clear, concise deliverables creating and utilizing appropriate document templates
•Conduct periodic reviews and updates of project scorecards and review/approve project time on schedule
•Prepare and present formal and informal presentations to project team, executive teams and other appropriate groups
•Share knowledge and being a champion for the project management discipline
•Stay abreast of industry best practices
Minimum Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field preferred
•7 years of project / program management experience to lead multiple simultaneous projects as well as guide others on project management techniques
•Certification in project management preferred
•Experience with standard project management tools, methodologies and frameworks
•Utilization of / building of PMO structure in an organization
•Capability of shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
•Tactical expertise in IT project planning and process development (can teach others) balanced with ability to follow prescribed standards, methodologies
•Ability to work across multiple teams and drive projects to completion
•Excellent oral and written communication skills to provide clear messages to all levels within the organization.
•Demonstratable experience creating and presenting executive level presentations to leadership
•Strong understanding of computer applications
•Must have good time management skills and be able to meet quick-turnaround deadlines
•Must be a team player who promotes IT initiatives in a positive manner
•Must be able to perform all essential duties
